John Hollenbeck's - The Claudia Quintet - Tours Europe in March 2016 And North America in April & Beyond  [L-R: Red Wierenga, Matt Moran, John Hollenbeck, Chris Speed, Drew Gress] Led by composer, drummer and three-time Grammy nominee John Hollenbeck, The Claudia Quintet have quietly but firmly and definitively recast jazz into vibrant and vital new shapes inflected by classical minimalism, new music, progressive rock and post-rock. Creating music that sounded like noone else, they quickly became one of the most influential stylists on cutting-edge jazz, inspiring an entire generation of young musicians worldwide. The Claudia Quintet have shaped the sound of what jazz is today, and what jazz can be. The Claudia Quintet have released seven albums, six of them on Cuneiform Records. In anticipation of their eighth album, Super Petite, which comes out on Cuneiform in Summer 2016, the ensemble embarks on a March 2016 European tour followed by concerts in North America in April 2016 and beyond. “Contemporary classical, jazz, minimal, progressive…genre matters not.
